Andrew L. Leitzel, OD

Dr. Andrew L. Leitzel was born and raised in central Pennsylvania.  He graduated with clinical honors from Pennsylvania College of Optometry. 

Dr. Leitzel has over a decade of experience in the field of primary eye care. He is owner and partner of a multi-location primary eye care practice in central Pennsylvania doing business as Mechanicsburg Eye Associates, Wheatlyn EyeCare, and Dry Eye Center of Pennsylvania.  Dr. Leitzel is an active member of the Pennsylvania Optometric Association and past president of the Central Pennsylvania Optometric Association. In 2017, he was awarded by his peers the prestigious “Pennsylvania Optometrist of the Year Award”.

From 2008- 2012, Dr. Leitzel served as Director and Chairman of the Board for Tri-County Association for the Blind. While presiding over the board, he strategically planned, organized and successfully launched the Vision Rehab Center (VRC). VRC is a low vision rehab center that unites the specialty care of a low vision center with social and occupational rehabilitation services to meet the needs of those who suffer from low vision.

Dr. Leitzel was elected to the PA Vision Foundation Board in 2014, and was named Executive Director of the PA Vision Foundation in January 2017. He is responsible for overseeing operations, program development, strategic planning and board administration. The PA Vision Foundation provides no cost vision exams and eyeglasses to those who are uninsured and in need.  Dr. Leitzel has a strong passion for serving those less fortunate and vast experience in the non-profit sector, which will help drive the success of the Foundation.

Dr. Leitzel provides optometric services including comprehensive eye health exams, diabetic eye exams, glaucoma disease management, medical treatment of eye infections, routine exam, contact lens fittings, and emergency eye care.  He has a special interest in Dry Eye Disease management and serves as Mechanicsburg Eye Associates’ Dry Eye Specialist.

Dr. Leitzel resides in Dillsburg, Pennsylvania with his wife, two children and their dog, Lexie. In his free time, he enjoys boating, skiing, biking, sporting clays and of course, spending time with his family.

Christine Weld, OD

Dr. Christine Weld graduated from the Pennsylvania State University in 2005 with a bachelor of science degree in Life Science and Biobehavioral Health.  In 2009, she earned her Doctorate of Optometry from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry where she graduated with highest honors. She was a member of the Beta Sigma Kappa Honor Society and a member of Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society.  She is an active member of the Central Pennsylvania Optometric Society where she earned the honor of Young Optometrist of the Year in 2013. 

Dr. Weld performs comprehensive eye examinations on patients of all ages. She has a strong interest in detecting, diagnosing, and treating eye disease. She has fit many challenging patients with the latest in soft contact lens technology. Dr. Weld enjoys educating patients on dry eye disease. Her favorite part of the job is getting to know her patients. 

Dr. Weld is originally from Weirton, WV. She has resided and practiced optometry in York since 2009. She loves spending time with her husband, Jesse, and two children, Colin and Mallory. When she is not busy at work, Dr. Weld loves to travel, go out to dinner, and read. 

James P. Tuttle, OD

Dr. James P. Tuttle is a graduate of the Pennsylvania College of Optometry and has been in private practice for over 25 years. Doctor Tuttle is proud to provide state-of-the art care to residents of greater central Pennsylvania.

He is experienced in the diagnosis and medical treatment of eye disease, including glaucoma and dry eye. He specializes in custom contact lens fittings for specialty lenses such as keratoconus, Ortho-K, bifocal and medically necessary contacts. He also treats and manages contact lens-related problems. 

He is a member of the American Optometric association (AOA), Pennsylvania Optometric Association (POA)York County Chamber of Commerce, Eastgate Sunrise Lions Club and a member at York Alliance Church.

Leslie E. O'Dell, OD, FAAO

A native of York County, Dr. O’Dell graduated Cum Laude from the University of  Delaware in 1999 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Biology and a minor in medical humanities. She graduated from Pennsylvania College of Optometry (PCO) in 2003.  Following graduation from PCO, Dr. O’Dell completed a hospital¬based residency at the  Baltimore VA Medical Center, where she gained valuable experience through outside  clinics with specialists in glaucoma, retina and corneal disease.

While working in a medical eye practice for the past decade, Dr. O'Dell has established a  specialization in the diagnosis and treatment of dry eye disease. In addition to educating  and offering tailored treatment options for patients suffering from dry eye, Dr. O’Dell has  lectured nationally and internationally to other eye care professionals to raise awareness  of this important issue. She also conducts research related to dry eye and other eye  diseases and is regularly published in optometric journals.

Dr. O'Dell is a member of the Pennsylvania Optometric Association and served on the  Executive Board of the Central Pennsylvania Optometric Society (CPOS). She was  named CPOS’s Young Optometrist of the Year in 2008. Dr. O’Dell earned her  Fellowship from the American Optometric Association and is a Diplomate of the  American Board of Optometry. She has been appointed as a Member of the Tear Film  and Ocular Surface Society as well as the Optometric Glaucoma Society. Dr. O’Dell  currently serves on the Medical Advisory Board for ForSight Vision.
